Joy Gyamfi is a black, queer writer and photographer from Ghana. She currently resides on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples (aka Vancouver). Her work has appeared in The Garden Statuary, SAD Mag, and The Capilano Review.

This series explores the various ways in which queer people are close to one another. A key feature of the project is that all subjects are faceless. Coming out is a continual and ongoing process; it is a conscious decision and facelessness honours that.
